Kings Raise Queens

Kings Raise Queens, Queens Awaken Kings

Honesty, this idea came from hatred.

Someone recently asked me why I call my daughter a queen, they didn’t ask out of curiosity they asked with the intent to shame and judge.

In full transparency, it’s quite literally a part of their job to do so.

The conversation in my head that came between that question and my answer was a full script of a movie.

Part 1 of that movie. Giving them what they want. People-pleasing in order to avoid what would surely come if I actually spoke my truth.

Part 2: Shame, my own shame for not having stood my ground for what was actually right and aligned with my values.

Part 3: The Toxic Pride: I know better than this fool, f*ck you and the shame that I can feel from this question. Here is what healthy masculinity really is jackass…. (“HEALTHY” thanks ego for that check-in)

Park 4: Regret. One day I will share this story with my daughter. Will it be one of learning where daddy stood up for what he knew was right or will it be the story of conformity of standards?

Park 5: Realization and compassion. Clear-minded I knew I wouldn’t back down from my truth, no longer do I even align to such fear driving my actions. So I asked a question back “does it change the way you see me and the actions I take as a parent. Does my language challenge your perspective of right and wrong, healthy and weak when it comes to parenting?”

Shame comes from confusion, a lack of understanding then defending what we don’t know never getting curious to inquire about the other person's perspective.

The answer was yes from this person.

So I asked why.

Essentially in their perspective language and can be seen as emotional neglect.

I asked for resources, experts who say that my specific language and parenting choices are altering the fabric of wellness.

Nada.

A king seeks to understand, to hold space, to be the void for creative expression. It is a container of infinite play for the feminine, a space of non-judgment and where all is accepted. This container raises the queen into her power, knowing that the container is safe from judgment, shame or hindered creative energy.

In return, the queen mirrors back to the king through her creative expression that which she feels, deep truth, which calls the king further into an expansive container of understanding.

And the wheel continues to turn.

I call her a queen because her creative potential is fully expressed, unhindered, unapologetic, and empowered. I want her to never forget that, to build associations for that in her future. When she has the space and the container to remember again that which she truly is.
